Content

The Demo/Training day will focus on empowering biologists to deploy and maintain their own Galaxy servers. Almost everything covered will be done from a web browser, without using a shell (command line) interface, or scripting. The workshop is also appropriate for bioinformaticians.

Topics covered:

  • Introduction to Galaxy
  • Galaxy datatypes, histories, datasets, tools
  • Installing and administering your own Galaxy on the cloud
  • Simple text manipulations, a simple workflow
  • Using the ToolShed
  • NGS-analaysis: RNA-seq and/or Chip-Seq
  • Visualizations

Location

The training day will be held in the UniS-Building (room: A -119) of the Universität Bern, which is a 5 minutes walk away from the main train station.
